Please join us, Marg and Bernie, the new owners of The Gathering Place Bed & Breakfast for a one night, or multiple night stay in our little piece of paradise. As full time residents of Pelee Island, we would be happy to welcome you into our home.
This house, built for Hamilton Cornwall, is one of the original limestone buildings on Pelee Island. It was built in 1893 by John Lowe from limestone quarried on the island.
Our great room offers a quiet retreat to curl up with a good book in front of the fireplace or work on a jigsaw puzzle on cool days. The screened sunroom is a wonderful spot to enjoy the lake view, read, visit, enjoy nature while sipping on a tea or a glass of Pelee wine. After a day of touring the island, return to The Gathering Place to enjoy a cool drink and soak in the afternoon sun on the red muskoka chairs overlooking the lake or take a refreshing dip in the lake on our private sandy beach.
We are a short walk from the ferry dock, restaurants, bike rental and the Heritage Centre. For a longer walk you can reach the Legion, Pelee Island Winery Pavilion, the farmers market quarry and Art Works. A small fridge is available for our guests. We do not have TV or internet. Groceries and fuel are limited on Pelee Island. Please book the ferry early if you plan on bringing your car. Ferry service: 1-800-661-2220
Loving and taking care of the environment will be our number one goal as we live on this amazing little piece of Canada. Clean air, clean water, clean land is what it is about. We encourage you to join us on this triple R journey.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Gathering Place Bed and Breakfast.
